Elog
From Pirates@Home
The LIGO E-Log is an electronic logbook which is used by the LIGO operators to keep a record of all significant events that occure while LIGO is running. Any noteworthy problem or abnormality is recorded in the E-Log by a LIGO scientist, along with the operator's best interpretation of the problem. The elog serves as a reference for anyone who analyzes LIGO data. For instance, if a LIGO operator notices that seismic activity is high enough to affect the instrument, this would be recorded in the E-Log with the scientist's best estimation of the source of the seismic activity.
