The Brig on Pirates@Home
The BOINC software has a provision for suspending a user's privilege of posting to the discussion forums for a while, though it is not clear that this has been implemented or used very well. This "feature" is being tested and refined on Pirates@Home as part of the authentication plug-in which ties the BOINC code to a wiki. If a user is suspended on the BOINC project then they are placed in the 'brig' on the wiki, which is a group which has no permissions, not even to read the wiki let alone edit or create new pages.
The image at the right shows part of the control panel created to allow a project administrator to suspend a user's posting privileges (or remove a suspension). It also allows the administrator to easily control the special user status bits.
