Calculation of RAC seems to be broken. After several days of double-digit credit I still see 0.41 Credits RAC. On the other side many users who did not do any work for several weeks still have considerable RAC. When I started work on M/T my position in RAC became worse instead of better:

When I started work on M/T my position in RAC became worse instead of better: This happens to all pirates who use the M/T. I assume this is because the M/T doesn't count to the Rac but nonetheless makes it being recalculated. So your rac doesn't lose more than those of others, it is only more up to date. If you look at the rac stats of clooney and byterain they seem to be top pirate crunchers. But they have only ceased reporting any results after their last bunch. Since then their rac has never been recalculated. This will settle again, when everyone gets results again or when eric forces recalculation of the scores. I hope i've guessed this right. ____________ Dragons can fly because they don't fit into pirate ships ![]()

When we are not giving out work RAC is not updated, unless I run a separate task to do so (which I will start now). When we give out work, RAC is recomputed at the same time credit is awarded.

Indeed, I intend to separate the Turk entirely from BOINC credit. I just have not had time to do so. ____________ -- Eric Myers "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." -- William Butler Yeats

No, BOINC credit already granted will be retained. But after the switchover credit for work done on the Mechanical Turk will be awarded in silver Reales ("pieces of eight"), one per task. It's true we don't have as much work for Mac, but that makes your contribution more valuable. I hope you'll stay attached to the project for when we do have Mac work. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to have a separate top users listing per platform? That might not be a difficult modification to make. ____________ -- Eric Myers "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." -- William Butler Yeats
