Capt'n Whils't I was crewing the sight I had Einstien downloading new .exe and .pdb files. The .exe file is 3004KB and the .pdb is 4123KB. Using higher math and the reported thruputs of above, I was running at 116592 bottles per second. Using lower deck math, on a good day with no error correction, these files would have downloaded in 18.2743589744 minutes. Not the over all 9 minutes in the log. I do not run any accelerator programs. That is, that I know of. I downloaded some other sizable files and they downloaded at my normal rate. The only differance was that I was browsing the Pirates web site. So what did the Capt'n do to double the wind in my sails. :') I know that it is coincidence that this happened while carusing Pirates. It might be possible that your modem's connection is compressed (usually is, maybe depends on the provider?) - take a look at the connection's Status dialog, General tab - You should see transferred bytes count, compression effectivity in % and error count, for both upload and download direction. ____________ Peter .-)
