Update.

It also left SETI & Predictor both paused.

Had to exit then restart Boinc to get it working.

As ric says in this thread from LHC, some other program is accessing this file.

I've created a new thread for this problem, and moved the posts to the thread as a test of the new forum moderator capability to do so.

EDIT: looks like it works. Neato.

UPDATE.

I have now downloaded and crunched a unit.

It downloaded 4.71 exe again and ran without a problem.

When I think of the log the exe took a long time, before it said backing off for 1 minute, so it might have got corrupted in the time delay. I checked my modem it had one error in the last 23 hours.

That might be it.

Also got your email Eric. (I presume its automated?)

Yes, the feature which let me move this discussion to another thread has a provision to send an e-mail to the poster telling them it's been moved. I wanted to try it out, and I wanted you to know I was doing this and why.

I won't use this feature very often, it's not very easy to use when there are many posts in a thread, but it can be handy.

Message 1518 - Posted: 12 Mar 2005 | 10:36:36 UTC

Speaking of errors, I wanted to modify some data in my profile and it showed the following legend at the end:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: show_combo_box() in /usr02/pirates/html/inc-4.66/profile.inc on line 134

so I could not implement my new age, as of Feb.12 when I became 68.

Can we solve this Eric!

This should now be fixed.
